Celebrating our newly purchased iPads! 🥰
Thanks to the generosity of our Davis families and community, the Davis Foundation recently spent $49,560 on 140 new iPads (plus cases and charge boxes), allowing every classroom to have 5 each! Thank you again for a successful 2019 Davis Dash! We look forward to Davis Dash 2020 in March. |
The Davis Foundation's purpose is to foster excellence in education and community development. The goal of The Davis Foundation programs are to help enrich learning in a collaborative and project-based environment, where kids work closely together to solve real-world problems. Davis Foundation also provides ASEP (After School Enrichment Programs) to our community in the arts, foreign languages and physical development classes - as well as teacher grants and capital improvements to the school.
Welcome from our new Principal, Kristin Erbskorn:

Dear Parents and Davis Community,
I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Davis Elementary School. Davis is an outstanding school with a strong community. The passion and dedication of the staff, the special events and traditions provided for students, and the sense of family are evident. I look forward to getting to know each of you and your child(ren) over the coming weeks and months.
For the past 22 years I have served the Cobb County School District as teacher, area lead teacher and administrator. As area lead teacher I worked as a K-5 trainer in multiple schools in the areas of writing, visual organizers, engagement strategies and utilizing data to drive instruction. I then worked as Assistant Administrator at Pitner Elementary followed by Assistant Principal at East Side Elementary where I have served the past seven years.
I am passionate about providing a quality instructional program as well as educating the whole child through the arts, STEM education, physical education and character education. I believe in facilitating each child’s discovery of their strengths in order to ignite their curiosity and motivation. Our job in elementary school is to ensure each student receives a strong academic foundation, social skills and the tools necessary to be successful in their school career and in life. Every child must feel safe, valued and supported.
On a personal note, I grew up in Alabama and graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery (go orange and blue!). I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. My husband, Chris, and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this year. Chris is a professional horse trainer and manages our 18-acre farm with 22 horses (7 of our own). We do not have children; however, our two French Bulldogs are like our babies.
One of the most important aspects of my work at Davis will be to build strong relationships with students, teachers, families and the community. In the coming weeks and months I will be meeting with staff, parents, and community members in order to listen to and learn from all the voices of the Davis community and to introduce myself. I am thrilled to be a member of the Davis family and look forward to meeting each of you very soon.
Sincerely, Kristin Erbskorn
