Challenge Island
Mondays, 2:30-3:30pm, August 31st - November 16th
Grades K-5
Challenge Island offers unique STEAM based activities and challenges every week, themed around each semester's mythical island destination. Students work together in STEAM teams to solve problems requiring different solutions. This semester's theme is the Believe It or Not Island - providing creative engineering challenges inspired by wacky, wild, and true facts! Amazing animals, extreme sports, and epic earthquakes are just a few of the weekly lessons your child will learn about during this semester's Challenge Island program!

Art a la Carte Kidz

The STEAM Club’s Fine Art program, Art a la Carte Kids, is a drawing based art-enrichment program designed to enhance drawing skills and build each child’s self confidence. Throughout the year, students learn the fundamentals of art through drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and mixed media, while using artist quality media. Projects never repeat – each session is new and different! We provide engaging curriculum that develops skills and techniques, stretches the imagination, and explores art history, as well as, the art work of our very own local artists! Each and every project is “kid-tested” to ensure that all projects are fun and successful! With Art a la Carte Kidz, students have a safe and secure environment where they can experiment, problem solve, build skills, and produce fantastic art creations. Art a la Carte Kidz is a drawing based art-enrichment program designed to enhance drawing skills and build each child’s self confidence. Spanish Now
Tuesdays, 2:30-3:30pm, September 1st - November 17th
Grades K-5
Spanish Now ASP is an after-school Spanish language enrichment program for preschool and elementary school students. Our teachers provide a fun, productive learning environment in which students are given the opportunity to develop basic Spanish language skills. We provide the children with useful vocabulary words in different units, and we help them learn these words by practicing them in different activities and games. The goal is to help children gain an enthusiasm and appreciation for learning Spanish as a second language and to provide a strong vocabulary base to prepare them for Spanish in middle school

Students will be grouped based on grade level and experience. We have multiple levels of projects including, Snap Circuitry, drone teck, LEGO WeDo and working through WeDo 2.0, NXT and EV3. Students progress through the levels each time they return to the program

DIY BASICS FOR CRAFTY KIDS...Club Skills & Frills tackles fun, crafty projects aimed at teaching kids lots of handy skills, like how to operate a drill, use a sewing machine or follow a recipe. Each semester, we take on several cool projects and make lots of unique items. From making cool signs or decorating cupcakes to creating personalized t-shirts or building PVC pipe projects, Club Skills & Frills is a great program for boys and girls who love hands-on craft projects. Projects are tailored to each child’s age, comfort level and personal taste.

Love Love Tennis

The program is designed to introduce the beginner player to tennis fundamentals through interactive stroke instruction, and games that reinforce point-play. The goal is not only to teach tennis, but also to foster positive social interactions and impart valuable life lessons such as integrity, teamwork, determination, perseverance, and healthy competition in a safe environment. Pickleball will also be introduced as part of the curriculum!

During this program your child will learn to bring buildings from idea to full size, well-constructed masterpieces. For participation, your child will earn an Architect’s Apprentice Badge.

ASEP Policies
- All students registered for an ASEP MUST also be registered for ASP (After School Program).
- If your child is attending ASP after their class, they must check in with ASP before going to their class.
- Please update your child's dismissal information using GoSafe through ParentVUE. Children will not be permitted to attend their ASEP if GoSafe is not updated with the correct dismissal information.
- Please bring proper photo ID and sign your child out according to the dismissal plan set for each program.
- Contact the class instructor or Lauren Bell, ASEP Coordinator, with any questions.
- ASEP policy states that students not picked up by a parent/guardian within 10 minutes of dismissal will be checked in to ASP.
- ASEP will not meet during scheduled school breaks, on early release days, or digital learning days.
